1. Congrats on being a Mommie Mayhem Featured Blogger! Lets get this party started by telling our readers a little bit about yourself ?

Wow, it's kinda scary being first! Ok, my name is Brittany, and I am the former Miss Ohio 2000, but my reign was cut short after the resurfacing of an amateur sex tape...to this day I still can't look a rooster in the eye. Anyways, I retreated from the spotlight, and now spend my days writing over at the cesspool that is barefoot foodie.com. Oh yeah, I am a wife and mommy as well...but that never sounds as scandalous as dethroned porn star beauty queen.

2. When did you start blogging ? Was it love at first blog ?

I started blogging about a year ago, and at first, my focus was food because, well, I'm a bit of an eater. It's embarrassing to look back on it now, my posts were sooo bad, totally boring. After a while, I found I had so many other things I wanted to talk about, and my cursing and spewing of drunken obscenities kinda took over. I like it so much more now, feels just like home.

3. If you could be one TV mom , who would you choose ?

Oh man, this is a hard question, there are so many. If I had to name my favorite, I would have to go with Lucy Ricardo, she is my muse. Always funny, always scheming, I can relate to her so well. Runners up would be Lorelei Gilmore, Roseanne and the ladies from Big Love, because sharing my wifely sex duties would totally free me up for other things, like charity work, environmental activism and not exercising.

4. Have you ever gotten mean comments about one of your blogs ? How did you deal with it ?

In terms of comments, no, surprisingly. However, I do sometimes get emails, one, most recently, alluding that I was a horrible mother based on the content of my blog, which would be a fair assumption, if say, I was a mommy blogger, which I am not. I don't focus on that aspect of my life on my blog, but that doesn't mean it isn't the most important thing in my life. I don't apologize for what I write, I am secure in my mothering tactics, and I don't feel the need to explain myself to the haters. Besides, I find that they only get upset when I write what they wish they had the guts to say:)

5. Do you have any advice for new and upcoming bloggers ?

Ugh, I could write a book, but I'll keep it short. First off, patience. Blogs don't become popular overnight, and readers can smell desperation, so just relax and let the content flow. Good content is the basis of a continuous readership. No one wants to read poorly written posts, or blogs that are clearly pay per posts or product reviews. Be original, read lots and lots of other blogs, leave meaningful comments, and before you know it, you'll be exactly the kind of blogger you want to be...whatever that is.
